Contract Pharmacal Corp. Invests in Productivity Gains

  • $40MM investment to purchase and renovate a new manufacturing facility
  • Will lead to additional 150 new employees

Hauppauge, NY – Contract Pharmacal Corp. (CPC) is investing $40 million in a project that includes buying and renovating a 17,500-square-foot state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at 165 Oser Ave. Plans are to also build a 140,000-square-foot extension that will unite that building with one of the company’s current buildings at 145 Oser Ave. Once the new facility is complete, CPC will also be increasing its full-time employee count by about 150 to over 1500.

The company currently maintains multiple facilities in Hauppauge and over the years, has continued to expand their operations due to growth. This new expansion will enable CPC to better serve its pharmaceutical customers, quadrupling capacity to 40 billion doses per year.

“This project is critical to our overall operations and ability to remain competitive in the global marketplace,” Mark Wolf, CPC’s president, stated.

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone said in a statement, “For over 20 years, Contract Pharmacal Corp. has invested in Suffolk County, growing to provide quality jobs for our residents. They will continue this growth by expanding and adding nearly 150 additional high-skill, high-knowledge jobs, which are needed to grow our economy.”

Founded in 1971, CPC develops, manufactures, and packages pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter drugs, and dietary supplements. Its customers include major drug companies, retailers, and wholesalers.
